The Evict Radon national study, led by researcher Aaron Goodarzi, reported that about half of Regina homes it tested were over its lower exposure limit (CTV Regina).
Why it runs high here
Radon comes from uranium breaking down in soil and rock. Southern Saskatchewan's soils release a lot of it, and our long heating season keeps houses closed up, which lets it build up indoors.
New or old house doesn't matter
Radon shows up in new builds and 1950s bungalows alike. Two houses side by side can test very differently. The only way to know is to test yours.
